A Story of Transformation and Renewal
For twenty years, yo-yo dieting was my lifestyle. I would
lose 20 pounds, and regain 30 or 40. Then repeat the same
self-destructive cycle over and over again.
At
one point in my 20’s, I weighed almost 300 pounds.
I suffered with asthma, hypertension, and chronic pain
in my back and knees.
Worst of all, my weight problems caused low self-esteem.
My clothes got tighter and tighter. I hated to look in
the mirror. I felt totally out of control.
| Every
day, little indignities chipped away at my self-image |
| |
• |
going higher and higher in the plus sizes |
| |
• |
huffing
and puffing walking up a few stairs |
| |
• |
other
people scrutinizing every bite I ate |
| |
• |
people
avoiding sitting next to me on a bus or train because
I took up more than one seat |
| |
• |
people
giving me dirty looks if I wanted to squeeze into
the seat next to them on the train |
God rescued me.
I reached a place of deep self-loathing. In desperation,
I turned to God. He did not fail me. He has brought me
on an extraordinary journey that transformed my life.
Since
2003, I have maintained a weight loss of 100+ pounds.
I enjoy optimal health. I feel renewed, spiritually lead
and fulfilled. I have a stronger bond with my wonderful
husband. (We met in 1989, married in 1996.) I am incredibly
blessed.
Through
my amazing relationship with God, I am living a life beyond
anything I could have imagined!
My
Ministry and Mission
Now, God is calling me to help other women experience
victory over the spiritually, emotionally and physically
crippling effects of weight problems and poor health.
My
mission is to help Christian women understand that God’s
love for them is so great that He wants to be involved
in every area of our lives, even our weight. Since God
can’t fail, His weight loss plan is guaranteed to
succeed. I want to show women who struggle with their
weight how to achieve victory, once and for all. Through
God’s grace and power, women reclaim their self-esteem
and confidence and make peace with their bodies.
